Location and classification
Hofgut is a vineyard site in the municipality and wine-growing region Bretzenheim on the Nahe. The official directory of vineyard sites lists Hofgut as a single vineyard site with the vineyard site number 510140. In 2024, 40.0 hectares there were planted with vines.
Landscape and climate
The vineyard landscape of Hofgut lies in gently rolling hills. The sites in Bretzenheim are protected from cold winds from the Hunsrück and are shaped by mild temperatures, plenty of sunshine, and a comparatively dry, sunny valley climate.
Soil
The site is characterised by terrace gravel. Within the vineyard site, a Müller-Thurgau plot on deep, well-developed loam is also described.
Viticultural references
The municipality assigns Hofgut to the Großlage (major site) Kronenberg. A documented cuvée from the sites Bretzenheimer Hofgut and Pastorei consists of Regent and Spätburgunder. In addition, a Scheurebe Trockenbeerenauslese from the 1975 vintage is recorded, with the vineyard site name Bretzenheimer Hofgut.
