Location and Classification
Höhlchen is a single vineyard within the cadastral area of Dienheim in the Nierstein area. It belongs to the Großlage Güldenmorgen in Rheinhessen. In the official wine site register, it is listed under single vineyard number 720303. The name is connected with a small hollow track.
Soil
The soil consists of loess and pararendzina. Documented are deeper, lighter loam with clayey silty material, calcareous properties, good water storage available to plants, sufficient aeration and good root penetration.
Vineyard Area and Wine Style
The officially recorded planted vineyard area in the 2024 wine site register was 1.8 hectares. The wines are associated with aromas of yellow fruits, apple, peach, pear and citrus fruits. They are described as light to medium-bodied, with mild acidity and suitable for early enjoyment.
