Herrlesberg

Location and landscape

Herrlesberg is a vineyard site in Neckarwestheim above the Neckar valley. The vineyards lie on steep slopes sloping down towards the Neckar and include old shell limestone terraces.

Climate and grape varieties

The municipality describes the local summer climate as being shaped by a Mediterranean influence. For viticulture, Schwarzriesling, Lemberger and Trollinger are documented.

Wine law classification

Herrlesberg is registered as a single vineyard site in the Württemberg wine-growing region, Bereich Württembergisch Unterland. Neckarwestheim is assigned to the Großlage Kirchenweinberg.

Cellar history

The Neckarwestheim Wengerter ended their own in-house winemaking towards the end of the 1960s. The former winegrowing cooperative joined in 2011 with the Felsengartenkellerei Besigheim, which the municipality refers to as the successor cooperative winery for the local wines.
