Location and classification
The Herrenpfad is a legally registered single vineyard site in the Pfalz wine-growing region, in the Southern Wine Route area, within the Großlage Kloster Liebfrauenberg. The vineyard site extends over Göcklingen as well as Heuchelheim-Klingen and includes the cadastral areas of Heuchelheim and Klingen.
Vineyard register
In the official vineyard register, the Herrenpfad is listed under site number 810314. For the 2024 harvest, the planting area register shows 48.1 hectares in Göcklingen, 188.4 hectares in Heuchelheim and 221.0 hectares in Klingen. This results in a registered planting area of 457.5 hectares.
Soils and landscape
The soils of the Herrenpfad are predominantly characterised by calcareous marl. Loess clay is described with inclusions of limestone, as well as sandy and sandy-gravelly soils with loamy overlays. The vineyard site lies above Heuchelheim-Klingen and offers panoramic views over the surrounding landscape.
Grape varieties and wine event
For the Heuchelheim Herrenpfad, Grauburgunder is documented as a quality wine b.A. trocken. In addition, Spätburgunder is mentioned as a grape variety from a Herrenpfad site wine from the Heuchelheim-Klingen area. The Wine Panorama at Herrenpfad takes place annually in the region.
