Location and classification
The Holy Fir is a registered single vineyard in the protected wine-growing region Hessische Bergstraße. It belongs to the wine-growing area of Umstadt and is located in the municipality of Brensbach in Germany. The official designation is “Brensbacher Heilige Tanne”.
Topography and subsoil
The vineyard is described as a steep site facing south at around 200 to 240 metres above sea level. The subsoil consists of gravel.
Historical use
The Holy Fir comprises two plots near the Oberwald. They were used for viticulture from approximately 1950 to 1990 and were not replanted afterwards. A classified larger vineyard site is not listed in the Hessian wine-growing directory.
