Location and classification
Hasenzeile is a certified single-vineyard site in the north of Weisenheim am Sand in the Pfalz. It belongs to the Großlage Rosenbühl in the Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße area.
Area and soils
The vineyard register lists a planted area of 78.7 hectares for Hasenzeile in 2024. The documented soils range from sandy loam and loamy sand to sand.
Plots and name history
The single-vineyard site is divided into the plots Am Gottesacker, Am Burgweg and Auf der Hasenzeile. The name refers to an earlier hunting or game preserve boundary that was marked by a stone or wooden post. The boundary stone remained in place until 1977.
Documented wines
Hasenzeile is documented for a dry Gewürztraminer from the 2017 vintage by Langenwalter estate. In addition, dry Gewürztraminer and Scheurebe Kabinett are evidenced in an entry from 2002. A producer profile from 2015 describes for the estate’s vineyards, including Hasenzeile, environmentally friendly cultivation as well as a selective harvest carried out predominantly by hand.
