Grafenberg

Location and classification

Grafenberg is a legally registered single vineyard in the municipality and in the wine-growing region Sponheim on the Nahe. The 2024 vineyard register assigns the site to the Nahetal area and the larger Rosengarten vineyard area.

Area and wine law

For Grafenberg, the 2024 vineyard register lists a planted vineyard area of 8.4 hectares and the register number 511432. An official announcement from 2025 documents an updated description of the boundaries of the single vineyard in connection with the vineyard register and the protected designation of origin Nahe.

Climate and winegrowing

Sponheim is described by the municipality and a local winegrowing business as a site with a mild Nahe climate. The region is also characterised as one of the driest wine-growing regions in Germany.

Grape varieties and wine styles

For wines with the designation Sponheimer Grafenberg, Riesling and Pinot Gris are documented. Riesling quality wine feinherb and previously Riesling quality wine halbtrocken are evidenced, as well as Pinot Gris quality wine trocken.
