Location and classification
Goldberg is a legally registered single vineyard site in the municipality and cadastral district of Pommern in the German wine-growing region Mosel. The vineyard site bears the number 44 01 25 and is assigned to the area of Burg Cochem as well as to the Großlage Goldbäumchen.
Area and site
For the Goldberg, a total of 5.8 hectares of planted vineyard area were recorded as of the harvest reference date in 2024. The site is documented as a south-facing slope, or southern exposure. The plots are located on slate soils, including deeply layered greywacke slate.
Grape variety and wine styles
For the Pommern Goldberg, Riesling is documented. The recorded wine styles include fruit-sweet Riesling Kabinett and finely ripe Riesling Spätlese.
Cultivation and history
A documented Riesling Spätlese from the 2021 vintage was produced from hand-picked grapes. For the designation of the wine-growing site, administrative records are listed, including an initial official notification of determination dated 4 June 1971, a new designation dated 11 October 1972, descriptions from the years 1993 and 2003, as well as a new description dated 7 October 2025.
