Götzenfels

Location

Götzenfels is an officially registered single-vineyard location in the municipality and in the wine-growing region Norheim on the Nahe in Germany. The wine-growing site is connected to the Götzenfels section of the Rote Fels massif and extends roughly from the Bastei in the direction of the entrance to the village of Norheim.

Topography and Walls

The vineyard site is described as a steep, remote slope above the level crossing in Norheim. On the Götzenfels slope, old vineyard stone walls have been documented.

Area and Preservation

The wine site directory for Rhineland-Palatinate lists Götzenfels in 2024 with an area of less than one hectare. For 2026, the renovation of the old stone walls by the state agency for real estate and construction management was planned in order to protect the adjacent rail infrastructure.
