Location and classification
Felsensteyer is a vineyard site in Niederhausen in the wine-growing region Nahe in Germany. The official wine sites directory of Rhineland-Palatinate lists Felsensteyer as a single site in the municipality and cadastral district of Niederhausen with an area of 11.5 hectares. The VDP classifies Niederhäuser Felsensteyer as VDP.ERSTE LAGE® with a classified area of 14 hectares.
Topography and soils
The site is oriented south-southeast, lies at around 120 to 160 metres above sea level and has a slope gradient of 40 to 60 percent. The VDP describes the soils as porphyry and greywacke. Another site description characterises Felsensteyer as a steep slope oriented to the south, with deep, loamy soils and Tholey slate.
Grape variety and wine style
Riesling is given as the classified grape variety. According to the site description, Felsensteyer often produces spicy wines.

Felsensteyer is listed on a historical wine-growing map of the Nahe for the administrative district of Koblenz from 1901.
