Location and classification

Felseneck is a classified vineyard site in Wallhausen in the Nahe. The VDP lists the site as VDP.GROSSE LAGE® and classifies Riesling as the grape variety.

Topography and soils

The south-facing site lies at around 240 to 310 metres above sea level. The slope gradient is 30 to 45 percent. The soils consist of green slate, also known as Dalberg slate, as well as loamy and sandy loam.

Area and wines

The classified area of Felseneck in Wallhausen covers 16.16 hectares. Documented are dry Riesling Grosses Gewächs, Riesling Kabinett and Riesling Spätlese. The Prinz Salm winery states that it has been continuously cultivating Wallhäuser Felseneck since 1219.
