Burg Warsberg is a legally registered single vineyard in the municipality and in the cadastral district of Wincheringen in the Upper Mosel area of the winegrowing region Mosel in Germany. The single vineyard belongs to the Großlage Gipfel.

Within the site, slope inclination and duration of sunshine differ. The grape varieties are assigned to the cultivation sites according to these conditions. The soils are described as shell limestone and are geologically linked to formations at the edge of the Paris Basin.

History of the name

The name of the single vineyard refers to Burg Warsberg in Wincheringen. The municipality records that the Warsberg family owned the castle as a fief of the Electorate of Trier.

Processing and maturation

The winery associated with Burg Warsberg documents whole-cluster pressing for Elbling, destemming of Burgunder varieties, as well as the production of red wines in the Mosel style. The base for sparkling wine matures on the lees for at least nine months.
