Steep slope and soil
Beulsberg is documented as a steep slope. Up to the 19th century, no paths could be laid out there for horse-drawn carts. The regional geology and terroir material indicates slate soil for the Urbar Beulsberg.
Historical cultivation
Historically, the grapes were carried up the steep slopes in Legeln on the workers’ backs. Later, an accessible collection point was created for carts and harvest containers.
Documented wines
Riesling is evidenced by a dry Riesling Spätlese from the 2001 vintage with the designation Beulsberg. In addition, an Urbar Beulsberg Spätburgunder Réserve is documented: The 2022 vintage was made into a dry red wine and matured for two years in barrique.
