Location and origin
Betschgräbler is associated with the single-vineyard Betschgraben in Eisental, a district of Bühl in Baden. The vineyard lies in the hilly foothill landscape around Eisental.
Site conditions
The vineyards around Eisental are situated on sheltered slopes facing south or south-west in sheltered valleys. Stronger sunlight exposure and longer sunshine duration are described there as favourable site conditions. The Betschgraben site has deep, fertile loess loam soils.
Grape variety and wine
For the Eisentaler Betschgräbler, Riesling is documented as the grape variety. The 2024 vintage is designated as a quality wine, dry, from the Baden wine-growing region and is described as fresh and fruity, lively and invigorating. The analysis figures are 11.5 % alcohol, 7.0 g/l residual sugar and 7.0 g/l acid.
