Historical background
Rüdenhausen is mentioned in 892 in a chronicle of the monastery of Schwarzach. In the 16th century, the place became a permanent residence and seat of government for the Castell-Rüdenhausen line; the municipality states the years 1555 to 1556 for this. The documented 2023 vintage of the Trautberg Silvaner was spontaneously fermented and aged for a year on its lees in barrels made from Casteller oak.
