Location and winegrowing
Rödersheim-Gronau belongs to the Mittelhaardt area of the winegrowing region Pfalz. The vineyard areas cover around 50 hectares of the agricultural land within the municipality.
Fuchsloch vineyard site
The Fuchsloch is an officially designated single vineyard site with the wine site number 820509. In the wine sites directory for Rhineland-Palatinate 2024, for the entry Rödersheim-Gronau–Rödersheim, 54.8 hectares of planted vineyard area are listed.
The single vineyard site extends across the municipal area over Rödersheim-Gronau and Hochdorf-Assenheim. Its official description was revised on 6 November 2025 for viticultural reasons; parcels in the cadastral districts of Rödersheim, Gronau and Hochdorf are listed.
History
Rödersheim is documented in a royal charter dated 29 April 859. The document lists among the holdings of Ratherisheim vines that produced four casks of wine.
The present-day municipality of Rödersheim-Gronau was formed in 1969 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Rödersheim and Gronau.
