Location and landscape
Ölbronn-Dürrn is a municipality in the northern Enzkreis of Baden-Württemberg and belongs to the region Württemberg. The municipality covers 15.63 km² and lies at the transition from the Stromberg foothills to the Bauschlotter Platte: the eastern part belongs to the Stromberg foothills, the western part to the Bauschlotter Platte.
The Eichelberg
With a height of about 350 to 369 metres above sea level, the Eichelberg is the highest elevation in the municipality. Its subsoil consists of hard reed sandstone, which forms a stepped slope above the Keuper marl. The Eichelberg is also a wine-growing area with vineyard plots from the districts of Ölbronn and Dürrn.
Viticulture
Vines grow on the Eichelberg, from which wine is produced. The wine-growing area is listed under the name Eichelberg.
History
Ölbronn-Dürrn was formed in 1974 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Ölbronn and Dürrn. A historical description from 1770 mentions that, due to its location, the Eichelberg produced good wine.
