Location
Lauschied lies on elevated ground in the triangle formed by the Nahe and Glan valleys, in the district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland-Palatinate. The municipality belongs to the Nahe region.

History
In the Lauschied fields “In Frohnhausen” and “An den Pfühlen”, a Roman villa dating from the 2nd to 4th century has been documented. Lauschied originated as a settlement in an early medieval clearing area and was first mentioned around 1200.
