Location
Eltmann is a town in the Bavarian region of Lower Franconia and in the Haßberge district. It lies on the River Main at the edge of the Steigerwald.
Wallburg
The Wallburg belongs to the town. The site, which Eltmann describes as the remains of a spur castle, preserves traces of the landscape and a bergfried.
Viticulture
The Schloßleite is an officially entered vineyard site in Eltmann and is assigned to the winegrowing region Abt Degen Weintal in Franconia. Among other documents, the town archive has records of the phylloxera from 1885 to 1887, the implementation of the wine legislation from 1902 to 1912, and winegrowing from the years 1912 to 1914 and later from 1933. The local museum also preserves historically significant holdings relating to viticulture and cellars.
