Location and municipality
On Poststraße, there is a municipality in Burgenlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt, which belongs to the collective municipality of An der Finne. The municipality includes Braunsroda, Burgheßler, Frankroda, Gößnitz, Herrengosserstedt, Klosterhäseler, Pleismar, Schimmel and Wischroda.
Origin and landscape
The municipality was formed on 1 July 2009 as part of the municipal territorial reform. Klosterhäseler lies as a district of An der Poststraße in the valley of the Hassel. The Hassel valley is documented in the landscape of Saale-Unstrut as a deeply incised valley.

In the official wine sites directory for 2024, the single site Klosterhäseler Hasseltal is listed in the wine-growing region Saale-Unstrut. It comprises 9.5580 hectares of planted vineyard area; as a cadastral municipality, Burgheßler is given.
Wine-growing region Saale-Unstrut
Saale-Unstrut has a continental climate with warm, dry summers and cold winters and is exposed to risks from winter and spring frosts. The region is characterised by predominantly terraced vineyards as well as protected sites, mostly with a southerly aspect. Important grape varieties include Müller-Thurgau, Weißburgunder, Riesling, Dornfelder and Bacchus; Silvaner is also considered a regional classic. The wines are predominantly dry and are described as having finely nuanced fruit, lively acidity and clear aromas.
