Location and classification
Rosenborn is a legally registered single vineyard in the Kaimt district of the town of Zell (Mosel) in the Mosel. The wine-growing site belongs to the large vineyard Schwarze Katz and is assigned to the vineyards directory of the cadastral area Kaimt.
Area and topography
The Kaimt vineyards rise from the settlement towards the high plateau of Zell-Barl. For Rosenborn, the official vineyards directory lists a planted vineyard area of 12.2 hectares. The official vineyard number is 440410.
Historical and viticultural references
Rosenborn has already been listed under the Kaimt vineyards in a historical description of Zell dating from around 1830. An Ortega Beerenauslese from the Kaimt Rosenborn is also documented.
