Wine and history
Riesling wines from the Eltviller Rheinberg are described as elegant, with balanced acidity and an aromatic variety. In the 18th century, the steeply rising Rhine bank between Eltville and Walluf was used as vineyard and arable land; the historical field name was Rheinberg. Eltviller Rheinberg is registered as a single-vineyard site in the winegrowing region Rheingau.
