Location and Classification
Matheisbildchen was a registered single vineyard site in the Mosel wine-growing region, in the Bernkastel area, in the cadastral district of Bernkastel in the municipality of Bernkastel-Kues. The registered wine site number was 410105. In the wine site directory for Rhineland-Palatinate, a total of 9.8 hectares of planted vineyard area were recorded for 2024.
Topography and Soils
The vineyard plots associated with Matheisbildchen are described as being oriented west-south-west and as steep slopes. The soils consist of stony, weathered slate.
Grape Variety and Wine Styles
Riesling is documented for Matheisbildchen. The recorded wine styles are Riesling Kabinett, dry Riesling Kabinett, as well as Riesling fine-off-dry or semi-dry.
History and Legal Status
Matheisbildchen is shown on a historical wine-growing map of the Mosel for the Bernkastel area from 1906. On 26 August 2025, the state of Rhineland-Palatinate approved the deletion of the single vineyard site and the incorporation of its previous area into the newly demarcated single vineyard site Badstube.
