Lay is an officially classified single vineyard in the municipality and in the cadastral district Wittlich in the wine-growing region Mosel, area of Bernkastel. The site belongs to the Großlage Schwarzlay and has the official wine-plot number 410952.

For the 2024 grape harvest and yield inventory, 10.3 hectares of planted vineyard area are recorded.
Grape varieties and wine styles
Wines with the designation Wittlicher Lay are documented, among others, with Riesling, including Wittlicher Lay Riesling Kabinett. Recorded are Qualitätswein, Kabinett, Spätlese, Auslese, Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese in the styles dry, off-dry and sweet.
