Location and classification

Laurentiusberg is an officially registered single vineyard site in Waldrach in the Ruwer wine-growing region of the Mosel appellation. The vineyard lies high up in a side valley of the Ruwer and is documented as a south-westerly-facing slope.

Classification and vineyard area

In the vineyard register of Rhineland-Palatinate, Laurentiusberg is listed for 2024 under the site number 450157, with the municipality and cadastral district of Waldrach. A report from 2018 described it as a monopoly with an area of more than five hectares.

History and wine

After acquiring the land in 1899, the winery J. W. Huesgen planted Riesling at Laurentiusberg. The holdings later passed through the Langguth family and their foundation winery, before the vineyard was acquired in 2018 by the Karthäuserhof. A documented wine from old vines, mostly from the upper part of the Waldrach Laurentiusberg, was a dry Riesling.
