Laudamusberg is an officially listed vineyard site in Neumagen-Dhron on the Mosel. The vineyard site designation is assigned to the cadastral area of Neumagen in the official directory of vineyard sites of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
Topography and soil
Documented parcels lie in steep vineyards with slope gradients of up to 60 per cent. A designated parcel is oriented to the south-west and lies on weathered Devonian slate.
Grape variety and wine styles
Riesling is documented from Laudamusberg. The proven wine styles include dry Riesling and fruity-sweet Riesling Auslese.
Cultivation
A documented Riesling is harvested by hand. In a producer’s vineyards, the soils are kept under cover and no insecticides are used. Owing to the predominantly steep or very steep sites, most of the work is carried out by hand; machines are used only rarely.
