Location and Landscape
Königsberg is a registered vineyard site near Traben-Trarbach in the Mosel wine-growing region of Germany. The local vineyards are shaped by steep slopes made of slate.
Vines and Farming
For a plot of the Bindges estate at Königsberg, more than 50-year-old, ungrafted Riesling vines have been documented. The vines produce particularly small bunches of grapes and, by nature, deliver low yields. In the vineyards, weeds are not systematically controlled.
Wine and Historical Classification
A wine designated as 2023 Königsberg Spätlese documents a Riesling in the Prädikat stage of Spätlese. According to Weingut Bindges, the vineyard areas at Königsberg are part of its sites in the core area, which, in the wine site classification of 1886, was assigned to the two highest categories.
