Climate and wines
The sandy subsoil warms up quickly in spring. In dry years, the vines in Johanniskirchel can experience drought stress. In wetter years, fresh, elegant wines made from Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc are documented. In addition, Weißburgunder is recorded in a wine from the 2023 vintage; a Riesling from the 2024 vintage is documented as Kabinett feinherb.
