History and classification
The name is first documented in 1554. The historical designation referred to a site that at the time lay in the cadastre area that today is assigned to the Nonnengarten. Briedeler Herzchen was entered in 1956 with the German Patent Office as a trade mark. Until 1966, the municipality additionally marked particularly good wines with a seal. In the historical directory of estates, the site is listed as a small single vineyard in the highest quality category.
