Location and classification
Goldberg is a single vineyard site in Erpolzheim in the Palatinate. It belongs to the Mittelhaardt–Deutsche Weinstraße area and to the Großlage Rosenbühl.
Area and soils
The vineyard land register lists, for the Erpolzheim cadastral district in 2024, a planted area of 24.2 hectares. Goldberg is one of the hilly wine-growing sites on the Haardtrand slopes near Erpolzheim. The soils consist of sandy loam and loamy sand and often contain gravel or other coarse stones.
Grape varieties and wines
Wines from Goldberg are bottled as Riesling and Chardonnay. Dry wines of both grape varieties are documented. An historical wine market also records Riesling from Erpolzheim’s Goldberg site from the 1938 vintage.
