Geisberg

Location and classification

Geisberg is an officially registered wine-growing site at Zell (Mosel) in Germany. In the wine-growing sites directory, it is listed under number 44 04 03. A documented earlier parcel was located to the south-east of Zell above the road in the Altlayer Bachtal.

Terrain and use

The Zeller Geisberg is described as being south-facing and has comparatively deep soils. A parcel measuring 2,958 square metres had previously been used as a vineyard, but before the sale in 2025 it was cleared and recorded as agricultural land, at that time not being cultivated.

Grape variety and wine style

Riesling is documented for Geisberg. A Zeller producer offered a Geisberg Kabinett from there and describes the wines as showing their characteristics early on, and as light and pleasant.

Legal classification of wine

Geisberg is listed in the Mosel wine regulations as a cross-municipal single vineyard at Zell (Mosel) and is assigned to the larger site Schwarze Katz. Mosel
