Location and classification
Fronhof is a single vineyard site south-west of Bad Dürkheim on the gentle foothills of the Haardt. It belongs to the winegrowing region Pfalz, to the Mittelhaardt/Deutsche Weinstraße area, and to the Großlage Schenkenböhl.
Climate and soils
At the forest edge, shade and cool air masses flowing down the valley on hot days create special conditions. The subsoil consists of loess and river deposits.

The official directory of vineyard sites records 52.6 hectares of planted vineyard area for Fronhof; the designated vineyard site covers a total of 71.4 hectares. It is planted with Riesling and Spätburgunder, as well as Rieslaner and Scheurebe.
Wine styles and name
Dry Riesling quality wines and dry Riesling Kabinett wines come from Fronhof, as well as site wines from Spätburgunder. As sweet site wines, Rieslaner Auslese and Scheurebe Auslese are documented. The name refers to the proximity to the former Fron mill, also known as Frohnmühle. The vineyard site identification number is 821402.
