Location and classification
Deuslay is a registered wine-growing site in Mesenich in the German wine-growing region Mosel. The vineyards lie directly on the Mosel and belong to the Großlage Rosenhang.
Steep slopes and soils
Deuslay is cultivated as a steep-slope vineyard. For the steep slopes of the Mesenicher Deuslay, grey Devonian slate and red loess soils are given.
Cultivation
Winegrowing in Deuslay includes the cultivation of the steep-slope vineyards. In the vineyards of the Mesenicher Deuslay, among other measures, chemical plant protection is reduced, organic fungicides are used, and the sown cover crop is mown or rolled.
Grape varieties and wine styles
For wines with the designation Mesenicher Deuslay, Riesling is documented, including dry Riesling from Hochgewächs as well as sweet or noble-sweet Spätlesen and Auslesen. In addition, Sauvignon Blanc is documented in a wine with the designation Mesenicher Deuslay.
