Berg-Bildstock is a vineyard site in Walluf in Rheingau. The 18.9-hectare vineyard area is oriented to the south-southeast.

Soils and grape variety

The soils consist of loam and deep loess loam. As the grape variety for the Rheingau single site, Riesling is registered; the state register lists a registered area of 30.4 hectares for the site.

Wine character and name

The wines are described as full-bodied and powerful, with pronounced aromas and distinctive acidity. Their mineral acidity and the fine-grained character become more apparent with bottle ageing. The name refers to the numerous wayside shrines and memorial crosses in the vineyard area, which once asked for protection and blessings for vines and wine.
