Location and classification
Abteiberg is a legally registered single vineyard in the wine town and wine-growing area Mesenich on the Mosel. The site belongs to the Großlage Rosenhang in the wine-growing area of Burg Cochem.
Topography and subsoil
Abteiberg is described as a steep vineyard site with rock outcrops and individual terraces. Grey slate is a characteristic subsoil of the steep slopes of Mesenich; slate and greywacke are among the important local materials used for wine-growing.

In the directory for the 2024 harvest year, 37.1 hectares of planted area are listed for Abteiberg. The vineyards of Mesenich, including Abteiberg, are cultivated by several winegrowers.
