Location and municipality
Minfeld is a municipality in the Germersheim district in Rhineland-Palatinate and belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Kandel. The municipality lies on the edge of the Bienwald. Minfeld belongs to the wine-growing region Pfalz.

Winegrowing is established in Minfeld. The Herrenberg is listed as a single vineyard site in the Pfalz wine-growing region and within the Grosslage Guttenberg. The wine sites directory for 2024 lists the site under number 810206 with 42.7 hectares of planted vineyard area.

A published Pfalz wine catalogue describes, for a Minfeld operation with the Minfelder Herrenberg as one of the listed top sites, loess and sandy loam with limestone inclusions. The most important grape varieties mentioned are Riesling and Pinot varieties. Wines from the Minfelder Herrenberg include Schwarzriesling, Grauburgunder and Spätburgunder, including a dry Schwarzriesling Blanc de Noir as sparkling wine, a dry Grauburgunder and a semi-dry Spätburgunder.
Historical reference
Minfeld was first mentioned in a document from the year 982. The municipality’s historical account refers in this document to vineyards on lands that were transferred to the Church of Speyer.
