Location and landscape
Herxheimweyher is a municipality in the Upper Rhine Plain in the wine-growing region Pfalz. It lies at an altitude of about 118 metres above sea level. The municipal area is used mainly for agriculture; in the south there is a wooded area and the Rottenbach.
Winegrowing
Winegrowing takes place in Herxheimweyher. The municipality is linked to the single vineyard Am Gaisberg, which is assigned to the Großlage Herrlich.
History
Herxheimweyher was first documented in 1046 under the name Wiler by Hergyßheim.
Tobacco cultivation
Historically, tobacco was grown in Herxheimweyher. Several tobacco drying sheds are documented in the municipality.
