Location and landscape
Gauersheim is located in the Pfalz in the Leiselsbachtal valley. The landscape of the municipality is shaped by the Leiselsbach floodplain; on both sides of the valley, farmed fields rise.
Viticulture and single vineyard site
In Gauersheim there are around 20 hectares of vineyards. The single vineyard site Goldloch lies on the fully sun-exposed southern slope of the Hohen Berg. The official register of vineyard sites lists Goldloch with 12.0 hectares of planted vineyard area and vineyard site number 821504 as an officially registered single vineyard site.
History
According to the municipal authorities, Gauersheim has a documented history of more than 1,150 years. The basis for this is records in connection with the Abbey of Prüm.
